New Lights for Night Skiing this year! (Dec. 2019)
Skiers and snowboarders at Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area will be able to enjoy an even better on-hill experience this winter, thanks to a new LED lighting system that was installed this fall. The new lights will give skiers and snowboarders a clearer and brighter experience during night skiing. It is also a big step towards being more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.
"We can run three and a half-light fixtures using the same power consumption as one of our old fixtures," says Andrew Rusynyk, General Manager at the ski area states. "Our power consumption will be considerably less, helping us to be more environmentally friendly. We've increased the number of fixtures and changed the light colour to pure white, which will provide better overall brightness and definition in the snow."
"Night skiing or snowboarding is a great time to hit the slopes, makes a great after school activity for the whole family or a spot to hang out with your friends," Rusynyk continues.
Night skiing and snowboarding begins on Friday, Dec. 20th and to encourage people to come out to see the difference of the new LED lights, lift tickets are just $26 plus tax for any age, all season long. Night skiing and snowboarding are available most Thursday, Friday and Saturdays from 4pm to 9pm.
